Substance Misuse and control of bleeding
By using some recreational, legal or illegal substances, the casualty can increase the rate at which their heart is beating or thin the blood. These effects can increase the rate and time at which the casualty will 'bleed out'. It is essential that any first medic or doctor is informed of the substances a casualty has used in order to adminster the correct treatment to counteract the effects if possible.
